Project:
Hilda Sibrian Law Office Garden
client:
Dwight Patterson Architecture
date:
2022 - 2023
Scope:
Terralab created a bespoke garden environment, great for outdoor meetings, consultations, and employee respite. The site is an expansion of the existing firm complex, and is a real asset for the company, clients, and guests.
Impact:
The design called for working around a majestic existing live oak, with a trunk over 36" wide. The specimen is well over 100 years old and is the cornerstone of the garden. Great care was taken to avoid impacting the tree, while creating usable and exquisite outdoor rooms in and around the tree itself. The surrounding properties and adjacencies called for heavy screening and noise attenuation, as the site sits adjacent to Interstate Highway 610 in the Houston Heights.
