Project:
Zocalo
client:
Point Reyes Management
date:
2017 - 2019
Scope:
Terralab was charged with the amenity master plan and design of site elements throughout as part of the re-branding and renovation efforts. A complete overhaul of all amenity features is also included in the scope of work. The owner brought together other branding and architectural visionaries, FD2S and Chioco Design to help craft the vision.
Impact:
Zocalo is a re-defined multi-family development in the Spring Branch area of Houston. Once a 70's garden apartment complex with years of wear showing through, the property now takes on a fresh, funky, place-to-be attitude, showcasing Mexican modernism elements. Pool and clubhouse surround, sleek fountain element, central gathering park, sculptural playground, and landscape features are completely transformed on the site. Native and pollinator plants, as well as smart-water irrigation systems are employed to enhance the project and reduce water use.
